Hi! I have noticed that y’all seem to enjoy my reviews on products like Thinx so I decided that I’m going to try and review some more “obscure” brands for the next few weeks. Next week my review will be on Revice Denim (which will unfortunately be negative) but my review for this week will be on a brand called Uprising (“The World’s Smartest Tee”) and this one is positive :-)
Disclaimer: I am not an employee of this brand/I wasn’t paid to do this/etc, none of my reviews will be like that just an fyi! Everything I review is something I had a genuinely great or terrible experience with.
How did I find this brand?
I tend to like to try products that claim to do something for the body, whether it’s a period product, butt-lifting jeans, sweat-catching tees, etc and I sweat a LOT whenever I wear certain tops so I actually found this company through that type of google search, lol. A lot of my “dri fit” athletic tees aren’t really satisfactory to me either as the sweat tends to stay on them for a while which feels disgusting :-/ I also struggle with feeling too cold/too hot/not sweating enough/sweating too much/etc so I figured that this would be a nice thing to try! I figured that if it worked it would be a good investment and save me money in the future since I wouldn't have to experiment with different brands anymore.
Here is what the website (which is secure to pay on, unlike Revice) claims:
-
the tee will regulate your body temperature and keep you seven degrees cooler
-
it will not pill in the wash
-
tees are made in Los Angeles (you can view photos of their factories/some workers on their website which is nice)
-
they are fast drying and will absorb and dry sweat within 15 minutes
-
they keep you odor free so when you sweat the smell doesn’t stick to the fabric of the shirt
So, what do I think now that I got one?
Shipping: 5/5
The tee I got was from the “American Made” line and it was $45 but on the website there was an email signup coupon so that made it less. It shipped about one day after ordering and it arrived in less than a week (I live in SC so that’s impressive). It arrived in a gray polymailer so if you are wanting for your order to be discreet it will be.
Sizing: 5/5
I am 5’2 and ordered an xs and it fits me nicely. It has some extra room for me, but not too much. It is unisex sizing so I would recommend for anyone who wants a more fitted tee to go down a size. There are a lot of different ways to style it to make it look more fitted or loose, so I appreciate that.

Does the product work as advertised?
I can confirm that the product does work as advertised! I worked out in it and worked up a bunch of sweat and it dried really fast. Normally I would say sweat tends to stay on my shirts for 20-30 minutes but with this tee I felt really cool while exercising, much more so than I normally do, so I didn't sweat much to begin with, but when I did I felt like it wicked away within 4-7 min. This is a tee I would definitely want to work out in a lot bc it keeps you dry and cool instead of just allowing you to be hot while catching the sweat like a lot of other tops do.
Under the arms the sweat wicks away really fast, faster than my Nike and Under Armour tops, in my opinion. It also doesn’t stain the shirt yellow or make it dark under the arms like with my other white tees. The material has a very cool feel to it, it’s hard to describe, but it really does keep your body feeling cooler than normal which is perfect for spring and summer. Somehow it is really thin but keeps your temp regulated so you don't feel too hot or cold, it's very interesting-feeling when you first put your hands on it.
I gave it a wash in my washing machine and it did not pill! I also tried a Clorox spot cleaner on it and that worked fine with it. I believe the website when they say that it won’t pill bc the fabric feels like it isn’t even possible for it to pill in the wash.
Also, the tee does not smell at all for me even after sweating a lot in it. I feel like this is a very impressive aspect bc it means I could actually wash it a lot less than my others that do smell after I sweat a lot in them.
Is that all it does?
It’s very versatile which I like! You can tuck it in to a pair of shorts/jeans if you want to go out and party in it. It gives me American apparel vibes and if you’ve ever known that brand it works with literally anything, dress it up or down. The website has some good examples of how to style it. it’s got a minimalist vibe to it that I really like. So besides not pilling and keeping your body cool, it works well for any occasion, which allows you to get more of your money's worth out of it.
Besides that, it’s just a great basic tee to have and I’m happy with my purchase. I would recommend ordering from this company as I had 0 issues with them and I feel like it’s worth giving them a try as even if you don’t work out they have a lot of really cute items on their website that are multi purpose. I don't exercise often, but I still feel that this is a very useful tee to me since I can use it for literally anything and I do genuinely like its design.
Other notes:
-
this is a great company to purchase from if you are like me and don’t want to support sweatshop type labor!
-
The tee has a roomy fit so if you like to layer things with it, it will work really well for that.
-
The tee is unisex and has a neutral design, so if you like a more androgynous style of clothing, this would work really well for that.
-
The tee doesn’t make you cold or anything, it just helps you to keep cool when it’s warmer out bc it has a special cotton/polyester blend fabric, so don’t worry about this tee making you cold in the winter; it'll just regulate your body temp better.
-
It is a bit expensive for a tee but keep in mind that the quality of it is really great, it’s sweatshop free labor, it comes with a free tote, fast shipping, and you can find coupon codes through their website email signup or popup coupons, so imo it’s not a big deal that it’s $45. I mainly have a huge issue with having to throw out tees that pill excessively or look cheap after a few washes so I’m fine with paying more for one that won’t.
-
The website has a lot of other really pretty going out styles, so don’t just think it’s a tee shirt company. I saw some cool mock neck designs I am considering purchasing once I have some money for them.
-
make sure not to get Uprising Apparel confused with Uprising Brand - the one I am reviewing is UprisingBrand! There is another website called UprisingApparel but I have no experience with that company whatsoever.
-
this is kinda oddly specific but I struggle with social anxiety sometimes and if you've ever suffered from anxiety you probably know it's common to sweat a lot in stressful situations which can be super embarrassing-- if you need a top that will kind of hide that stress sweat and the smell of it this is a great tee for that. They also have other more professional styles on the website if you want to wear one to work on the day of a presentation or something. here are some other styles (I love the "tomi" personally) https://www.uprisingbrand.com/collections/shop-all-womens
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions & thank you for reading if you got through all of this! :-) and if you have any ideas for other brands for me to check out/try out for you don't hesitate to suggest some!
