I am about to redo all of the attic insulation before putting a floor up there. Once this is done it is going to be fairly difficult for me to ever run wires between rooms via the attic. For example, If i wanted to run some cabling that is sourced downstairs its easy to just bring it up from downstairs straight to the attic and then drill down into the individual rooms. Much cleaner and easier than having to hide it under carpets and what not.I was thinking a solution to this would be to sort of create a pipe network in the attic that would allow me to run cables between the rooms. This quickly got very complicated and seemed like it would cause more work than it would save. I stripped the idea back and came up with the diagram below.IdeaWhat I was thinking i could do is to make a tunnel up from the ceiling of each room to the attic and if I ever needed to do some cabling work, I don't need to pull up the floor, I have an easy way to get the cables up and down. This solution is functional but its going to look quite ugly. I was hoping to get some feedback on this to see if there is either a better way to do this or some suggestions on the best way to hide this access pipe. I will need to cover it in some way so that the heat doesn't escape and leave me with a toasty attic. The attic is only used for storage, it isn't large enough to stand up in. I only need it to look nice on the ceiling side of things. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2OO1Gv3
