previous owner of this NYC apartment built in the 1920s had a smaller maybe 42" max tv hung on the wall with 4 toggle anchors in 3/4" holes with an articulating arm, the toggles we're pretty beefy. However, now I want to mount a 55" with articulating arm and height adjustment using those same holes...is anyone against this? I really don't think there are studs, the wall is about a little more than 1" thick of plaster and lath and then about 1.5" max space between that and brick so I'm thinking they might've skipped the framing of studs and kinda floated the plaster in front of the brick without real wood studs. (i know my terminology is a bit off but I think you guys get what I mean)In any case should I use those toggles? Or should I do something else? The added weight of the bigger TV worries me a little bit on these plaster walls and I wish I could just hit a stud at least on one side (if there was one) via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2ANqSif
