Last weekend I decided I was done looking at our ugly, brown, sand stone hearth that someone had lovingly lacquered to a high-gloss sheen at some point, and we set out to whitewash it. Fortunately we already had Kilz K2 primer and all the brushes we could need, so our only expense was the paint for the mantle. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the results. We mixed 1 part primer to 1 part cold water and brushed it on, didn't wipe it off.The only bad thing about making over the hearth is now I like the insert even less. Oh well. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2MAxoOQ
