My partner and I are planning to move from NC to NV in less than 2 months.
We’ve hit a road bump, I have a car from 1986 that I just recently got and can’t part with. I’m worried about it surviving a 2100 mile road trip, but it seems outrageous to pay more than my car is even worth to get it to Nevada. We’ve looked into uhaul/budget rentals with a trailer, and both are north of $1500 in price and I can’t find a shipping option under $1000. I looked through this sub, and most people seem to end up selling their cars or dishing out the big bucks.
Has anyone been in a similar situation, and found an option under $1000? We’ve even been looking at getting a rental SUV and attaching a trailer (even though you aren’t supposed to), but my boyfriend is convinced that’s the best way to do it.
Please help, so this madman doesn’t get us in a crazy situation towing against rental rules. Again, selling the car/flying isn’t an option, I won’t get rid of the car and we have to move with pets as well so driving one way or another is a must.
