Is it a dumb idea to go all in on Amazon and Apple?

I have $6,000 that I want to invest long term (10 years at least) and plan on adding $500 every month into more Apple shares. Thoughts?

DRIP when dividend is lower than share price.
Colgate-Palmolive's CEO recently signaled he would be open to selling the company for $100 a share.
A little over a year ago Carl Icahn sold his position in Apple. It was trading around $96 a share, now it's trading at around $155. Reminding us that, at least in the short term, even the greats aren't always right.
It took Amazon 18 years as a public company to catch Walmart in market cap, but only two more years to double it.
