I’m not going to lie. Trying to head from CT to HI by the end of 2020. I’m seeing if it is possible to pull this off without suffering.

Here are the numbers I attempted to calculate (forgive me if I seem dense, I’m only 20 and not incredibly experienced, also I’m on mobile so forgive my formatting)

I have - 2k savings,

Credit score is 690-something,

A Car - worth about 1.5k,

Student Debt - Approx. $145 a month after grace,

Car Insurance - $285 a month, but I was told it’ll supposedly go back down my next renewal ,

Phone Bill - $80 a month ,

I spend about $100 a month in groceries,

And about $120 a month in gas (3.10) to commute to school, $60 when schools out ($10 per quarter tank)

I will be graduating this year with my bachelors in agricultural science.

To LIVE in HI: I’m going to need a wage of at least 30k, I think, so about 2k a month

Minus: - $80 - $285 - $145

————- $1,490 leftover for - Rent - Electric - Water - Internet (no cable) - Gas - Groceries - Possible car lease (my car is old, whole other issue) - misc. needs

I feel like this is doable.

I would not bring furniture, but shipping to move my few things would be about $500 I believe. No more than like 4 totes. Plus $400 flight, so about a $1,300 move. Oh, and maybe a $1,300 emergency back-to-home fund.

Am I being ridiculous? Are there things I’m not considering? I know utilities, gas mileage, and groceries are variables so I didn’t calculate prices for them yet.
