First time, throwaway.
Due to a family emergency, I'm going to have to leave my family-shared house in San Jose.
I have about $300 on hand and $250 in savings. I have a $200 bond from 2016, but I need to re-request its documents, as I believe it was accidentally shredded in a sweep of financial records I did.
My primary job pays $22/hr, and my secondary job is an on-call one (it's a concert venue - we only work when there's concerts, for obvious reasons). I don't get a paycheck from my job in either a week or two (last week was my first week).
I don't have a car. I primarily use Scoop and Uber's Express Pool for movement - Scoop is $4 a day, and Uber is anywhere from $5 to $8 dollars getting from my house to work and back. Since I'm new, I won't be able to receive a transport voucher or card that allows for free admittance on the public transport yet.
This'll sever me from government insurance (my folks work for the county), but my contract house offers insurance. I do have some medical equipment I'll have to leave behind - I don't know if it can be replaced.
I'll most likely have to rebuy my clothing, hardware, phone, etc - I can make do with the clothes I have and I'll get by with a simple cellphone that at least has SMS.
I've looked at apartments and rooms for rent, but given it's the Bay Area, it's pretty volatile right now - I'll also have to find shelter in the meantime. I'm looking for motels that do weekly rents and I'm hoping I won't have to use them for more than at least a week.
My current minimum is $120 (totaled up between two older purchases and my primary credit card). I've been paying them all off on time.
There are several wholesalers that are cheaper than Costco in the area (I used to work at one, too), and my food budget will be about $70 every two weeks (potatoes and bulk fruit are a Godsend).
My contract's up in about six months, too.
I was planning on completing my certificates for my line of work (the tests are approximately $500), but for obvious reasons, that's on hold for now.
