I'm going to go under the house and start running ethernet for my first floor. I can't find as much discussion about under the house as I can in the "server room."When you drill through the floor board, do you just leave it as bare wood and fish the wires, then do a fire-retardant spray foam? Do you install some type of (short) conduit like a PVC ring? If you leave this open without a foam spray... any concern about bugs getting up and through?If you run long conduit to each room, what do you fasten it to because I was told by a contractor that you can't screw/staple things to certain joists under the house (violates code). Is smurf tube really any better than this?The plan is for ~20 drops in the crawl space to the first floor laundry room closet that has no pre-existing wiring.
