The mechanic said my wife's car needed new brake pads in the front, and it would cost a total of $325 for him to replace the pads and resurface the rotors (price included parts and labor).
I decided it would be worth it to learn how to do it myself. So I watched some Youtube videos and did it in the driveway on Sunday. Took just over two hours, but I could probably cut that in half next time.
I ended up spending $75 on new brake pads and rotors (instead of resurfacing the old ones, I put brand new ones in!) So I saved $250 with a few hours of work. (well, a little less considering I invested $30 in some new tools). Plus, it was kinda fun seeing how it all worked!
