I finally got into investing for real recently after being scammed for 4 years by a "Financial Adviser" I've built up what is, in my eyes, a nicely balanced portfolio with a risk profile that I am comfortable with.
Now to the point, I have about 15% of my funds in BND but to be honest it feels like a waste of allocated funds. I have some holdings of BRK.B and i'm not going to lie, I love this stock. Looking back at past performance during pull backs and then recoveries, it seems to me that Buffett's deployment of capital during these times would mimic the function that bonds are supposed to perform in a portfolio with much better performance during the good times.
I am giving serious consideration to switching my BND holdings over to BRK.B as my "safe" option. Has anyone done this? Are there any gotchas I am missing?
