I saw a beautiful antique brass bed on Fb, it was way out of my budget but I contacted the seller and they agreed that if they hadn't sold it in a few weeks then they'd lower the price to meet me halfway. The listing said that it was a queen and had all the parts/hardware, but after I brought it home and set it up I realized it was none of those things. It's a full size, and was just a headboard and footboard. No frame or railing. I didn't realize this when I bought it because the entire thing was mostly taken apart and was just a bundle of poles and bars when I took it home. I set it up and realized there was no frame, so I contacted the seller again and she told me made her own "basic platform" and to screw the head/foot board into my box spring(?) which didn't sound stable or safe at all so I went out and bought a basic steel frame and decided I'd go that route instead. That's when I realized it's not even a queen size bed, and there's no way to attach the head/footboard to the frame. I'll include a picture, it's hard to explain. That's where I'm supposed to be able to attach a frame, but I've never seen a frame that would fit into that. That bar isn't an original part of the bed, she said they screwed those on for stability. These people seemed like diy masters and had a whole workshop behind their house to make these sort of things, while I live in an apartment and barely own a screwdriver.I'm pretty disappointed, the post was clear that the bed came with a frame, and it didn't. She was also wrong about the size, and I don't even know how I'm going to make this work with my queen mattress and box spring. It's missing a lot of screws and little pieces even though it was clear that it had all the hardware. I saved up quite a bit of money for this, even with her lowering the cost it was still a pretty big hunk of cash. I was so excited to have this beautiful antique in my home and now I don't even know if it will work.https://i.redd.it/h2s4pwl7p8j11.jpg via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NDNZxG
