I need help making a decision. I broke my foot a couple days ago. I was supposed to be moving out of my apartment at the end of this month. Before this happened I was planning on using the month to drive around, apartment search and sign a new lease. I was also supposed to start a new job this week. Now I can't drive and I also can't do that job anymore as it requires standing all day. I am starting to apply for new jobs but I'm not sure how long it will take until I get one.
I am very worried that 1. It will be physically painful/a hassle moving all my stuff 3 weeks from now with a broken foot (not to mention, difficult to apartment hunt with this injury) and 2. No apartment will accept me with out a job. So I asked my landlord if I can stay a little longer. She said I could sign a new, 4 month lease but it would have to be for the unit next door to mine (availability issues) and rent would be $300 more a month than I am paying now plus an extra $500 security deposit on top of the one I already gave. I already was having trouble affording living in this complex which is why I originally gave notice to leave. Should I pay the extra money and stay even though it would be a huge financial strain? Or should I leave? And if I leave, I'm not sure where I would go or what my plan would be. I don't have family or friends to stay with at the moment. I'm starting to get really stressed out. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
