I dont want to post pics at the risk of sounding all braggy but I really can't believe the progress. Last time I tried squash bugs destroyed every thing. I stayed with it and have about 60.00 invested.

I wanted to see if anyone had made a sticky on it or a post so we can help others get into it. I am by no means an expert farm wise or grammarically so I am a little intimidated. I also used sevin dust twice and I know alot of people do not condone it. After squash bugs were unbeatable with my own diy mix and bought organic mix I finally caved and used it through a panty hose lining so it was a fine mist and I kept the dust away from the roses and other little flowers. I then put a breathable liner over the area because I felt the bees would die and are dying because of it. When it started to rain a couple days later I removed it. The rain washed all the powder away.

I feel like I am starting to defend myself for using it again and I was worried about that part. I justified this by saying that at least I lnow how many treatments was used and did not harvest during the danger dates (with in 3-5 days). Also if it is evil to use the poison I guaruntee we are getting the same from store bought veggies and we dont have to pay for it?

Anyways aside from the posion contraversy what are your success stories. We planted 4 cucumber plants and holy moly!

Tltr: we bought 20 seedlings from a hardwate store. Also started some seedlings of our own. We learned as we went and wanted to see if anyone wanted to share thier stories to motivate other people grow even if its one container plant in a apartment like how I started. Not sure if this is a popular topic on here but we have invested 60.00 all together. We had no idea that zuchinnies can grow continuously down a vine or that You can propogate tomato clippings. That suckers are the little sprigs of leaves between the tomatoe plant and other pruning tips. Lastly one zuchinni plant can feed a family and i believe someone could have done this for alot less than we did. Most of the money was soil to mix with native soil.
