After emailing photographs to William Lennon's customer service, they came back to explain some of the the issues were due to pre-existing marks and creases on the hide. The black stains however were dismissed, saying that they don't polish the boots. No further explanation was given for that, nor the worn appearance of the boots.
After this, only a partial refund was offered as the boots had been customised with a leather lining. When I reminded them that under the Consumer Rights Act I was due a full refund as the boots didn't match the quality advertised, customised or not, they became rather arguementative stating the boots were exactly as advertised. Any issues with loose threads, I was advised, can be fixed by me simply snipping them. No advice was offered regarding the other issues.
All in all, this is probably one of the worst examples of customer service I've dealt with. How can anyone look at the image above and say that these boots are identical, or as they actually said, better quality? Am I being unreasonable to expect a pair of leather boots be made from hide without blemished or creases?
