EDIT: the disease is Huntington's disease.
As the title states, I plan on taking the blood test to determine if I have this condition. I also just learned that, unfortunately, pretty much everyone in my family who has had the "50-50 chance" of getting the genetic disorder has gotten it. So I am preparing for the worst. I am wondering about a few things, in case my test should come back positive:
-
Should I stick to term life insurance, or should I switch to whole life insurance? I am worried about "Preexisting conditions" popping up between terms.
-
Besides for updating my will, is there anything I need to do to make sure my investments, including my IRAs, can go to my family if I die before they mature?
-
Are there other investments that I should be targeting that are shorter term to help with medical costs?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
