I hate buying shit that keeps breaking after a year.

what I hate more is not knowing what items will last forever and which ones will break and the time it takes to sift through all the "fancy models" an research. Consumer reports doesnt work for me, there is too much fancy bells and whistles "fluff" and they only show the most recent models, which usually have poorer reliability versus older.

I don't want bells and whistles. just the basics.

is there a site or something that lists the MOST reliabable BASIC items, the cost, where to get them?

Example: I bought kirkland sandals 10 years ago. I wear them almost every day, and they STILL have NOT broken. thehy were only 15 bucks. I used to purhcase sandals over and over again cuz they woudl break every year. I would like to add this item to the list for other people.

but I want more than that. I want appliances. I want clothes. cars. tools. but I dont want the fancy stuff. I want the basics. what shoes to buy. what fridge to get. I dont want the LCD screen. I just want a fridge that lasts 20 years, and does not feel like a cheap piece of plastic. I also want a washer and dryer than doesnt break in 2 years. I dont need a million buttons. or "front loading".
