im not sure if this is the right subreddit, this is a Smurf account in case I'm traced back etc etc, but i just found out I make a higher salary than my Coworker (same field, same role) who has more experience by 2 years. The delema here is I really value their opinion and they kind of helped me get the job in the first place. They don't know how much I make, and I'm not sure how much they make exactly but they make a joke saying "I make less than XXXX". I realized that I negotiated for my salary and I think that they might not have 2 years ago when they got hired. Should I try to encourage him to negotiate for more or something? I'm really confused on what to do mainly because I don't want to disclose my salary. In another situation, i wouldn't mind disclosing my salary but since he's helping me I don't want to bring any animosity between us, especially since he's basically overseeing and helping guide me through everything (I recently graduated so I'm new to pretty much everything in our field) at the moment.

Advice is very much appreciated. If I posted in the wrong subreddit, some proper direction would be awesome too! Thanks.
