Hi guys, so for the last two weeks I’ve been WWOOFing. It’s a scheme where you work on a farm for however long in return for bed and board.

Whilst it is primarily great for learning different farming techniques and gardening models, I think what I’ve gotten most out of it is the free opportunity to taste the simple life.

I’ve been doing 6 hours of farming a day, 5 days a week in return for my food and a place to stay, which leaves the rest of my time devoted to sweet sweet serenity. Most evenings are spent reading by the fire with the other volunteers, discussing ideas and spreading our passions, or out visiting different local events like folk night.

I just thought this is a nice intro to simple living and an accessible way of tasting different ways of life, without much commitment. Would highly recommend it!
