I was at the grocery store buying some large flake oats for an oat cake recipe, when I saw these quaker products where you open the packaging, add water, and then let them steep over night in the fridge. Sounds cool, but the price was $3 for 2 little cups of oats, when I could buy a kg of oats for less than $3. So I bought the big bag.
This morning the oats taste great with a bit of honey and cinnamon. It's so easy and cold, perfect in the summer. And now I have more oats in the cupboard to make more in the future.
Here it is: equal parts oats to liquid (water or milk) and a bit of seasoning. Put it into a container and put it in the fridge. It's great for on the go too, no more fast food breakfast if I'm feeling too tired to cook in the morning.
