We go through a ton of milk at my house. Between 5 guys it goes pretty quick, ~2 gallons/day. I found out my local supermarket discounts items being close to their expiration date. This seems to only apply for "small-town" shops however as I've never seen it anywhere else. Now I pick up several gallons of milk for $1.19/each that expire in a couple days.
Might be something to look out for near you! Good reason to shop locally too!
