I want to make a rainwater catchment system that uses nothing that's been treated with flame retardants, using no plastic components, and not using a roof/gutters. Flame retardants are in practically everything to an absurd extent. Does anyone know for sure whether jute twine, stainless steel nails, or burlap sacks have any kind of additive like flame retardants, plastics, or anything else possibly toxic on them? I want to use one of those and make the rest of this experimental system with just sticks, leaves, and 1-gallon glass jars. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2JJLP1a
