I'm going to make a mobile miter saw station since I don't have a lot of room in my garage. There are countless designs online with the same idea, a sort of cabinet made from plywood and the plywood for the "wings". This typically requires two sheets of 3/4in plywood.I was hoping to save money by only using one sheet of plywood, and instead build the cabinet box/frame out of 2x4, resawed to 1x4 (so basically 1x4) and connected via pocket screws. I would have a middle vertical brace on the sides and back, leaving the front open for drawers eventually. I might also have some horizontal side pieces for future all wood drawers, or simply screw the holders into the three vertical pieces. The top of it would still have a layer if plywood for the saw to stand on and be screwed to.Is this a good idea? Will it still be structurally sound? I know it would be lighter, which would be a benefit, but is that wise with something like this l considering weight on wings and such and possibility to fall to side (even if you consider drawer weight and stuff inside it)? If you'd like a link to a design I can provide one.Thank you.Link to a design. https://ift.tt/2LL8szg via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2MjyRp6
