I accidentally over drafted my checking account when a pending transaction(credit card payment) I forgot about hit my account after I had already transfered my money to savings (except for the $200 I usually leave in checking after bills). So I was hit with a $35(!!!) overdraft fee. I thought I was stuck and just accepted it. Then I called support and after explaining that I had used the account for over 5 years without overdrafting once, they refunded $17.50 of the fee. And considering it was a credit card payment that could have negatively affected my credit score, $17.50 is a small price to pay for that service. I'm just glad it wasnt some dumb everyday payment honestly..
Tldr: If you get hit with banking fees, call support and see what they can do. 5 mins of wait time for 17.50 back was pretty great!
