He used his bank account, and the payment bounced after the laptop he ordered was delivered. He claims to have returned it, but there's no evidence in his Amazon account or his email that he ever did.
The debt agency has been contacting me for months stating I owe Amazon $900, and I sent them a letter disputing this, since I knew for a fact I never placed an order that high. They sent me back the invoice today, and that's how I found out that the order was placed on my brother's account, but the shipping address and billing address were both under my name.
Is this identity theft? What are my options? If he pays the debt, will it go on my record as my debt and affect my credit? If so, can I have him send a letter to the agency explaining the situation, with his payment, is that legally valid?
