Hello reddit. I’m embarrassed to make this post but I’m 23, currently living with my parents and I need to find a way to escape ASAP for my mental health.
Long story short, my parents have to be in control of my life 24/7 and it’s driving me crazy.
I can’t decide how to spend my own pay checks, I have to always tell them where I’m going all the time (sometimes they don’t even want me to leave the house). I’ve never had much of a childhood since they’ve been so strict and criticised all my friends to the point where I don’t even want to go out anymore.
I also need a reliable car for work and they won’t allow me to buy one despite it being my own money.
I currently make $13/hr(looking for higher paying jobs), live in GA,USA with no other family members so moving out is my only option.
Is there anyway I could move out on my salary? I’m thinking of trying to get an apartment and a roommate or Whatever it takes to get tf outta here, even if it means eating nothing but ramen for a year. Any advice?
TLDR : How to move out of controlling parents home while making $13/hr.
