Since I started studying the Stoics some years back, I found being frugal (living a simple life) comes extremely naturally these days.
It is not about saving money for me, however working to simplify my lifestyle through eliminating desire has gone quite a way to freeing up, and keeping resources free.
I do not, and more importantly my kids do not go without and we lead extemely full and rich lives. If you define rich as having all you desire.
I have become more aware of being frugal with my time lately since there are no other areas I desire to cut any further.
I will, and often do, pay more if the convenience of doing so frees up time to which I can create, engage in, or pratice doing good things or being a good person. There is a balance, however, and I still am extremely conscious of preserving resources. I will not pay for my own laziness lol.
All that said, does anyone else find that, at times, there is more value in spending more to free-up the one resource we never get more of...time?
