I have 1500 dollars just sitting around in my apartment, and moving past the very obvious "put in a banking account" I'd like to ask for help as to what I can do with that money. I don't work, I'm a student, so that's all I have currently, but the thought that every year I do nothing with it all it does is sit there and loose value kills me.
I've been thinking about maybe turning that money into bullion, which is something that I've been seriously considering, but in the end those prices fluctuate and I'd have to look into companies and then divy up my money into buying government issued rounds/bars/junk silver (which would require me to scour the interet for reputable sellers and do a lot of other risky stuff including banking on legitimacey and buying over spot price and in the end shipping costs and other fees I have no interest in paying may end up in me loosing 100 or so in the process which could have been used elsewhere) and the whole endeavor seems like more trouble then it's worth. Maybe I should only turn a part of it into bullion, maybe not, but I haven't ever done it so if anyone has any thoughts on it I'd love to hear.
Next I've been considering bonds, like government bonds, and although I'm not sure what 1.4 k will get you I'd be more than happy to look into it. I just don't know where to start.
Lastly would be stocks, but I'm just as clueless when it comes to these as I am with bonds.
That's all I've considered at the moment, I'm open to any and all ideas and would love to hear what everyone has to say about this. I look forward to hearing from all of you.
