I've had a pretty high electric bill since moving into my new house; about $200 per month @ $0.10 per Kwh in the winter. I know that might sound about right, but I heat my house with a wood burning stove. I moved into the house in the summer, so that amount sounded reasonable for a 2 bedroom house. The problem is that it never dropped in the winter.
So what was I paying for? I am gone 12 hours per day, I'm very good about turning lights off when not in use, and don't pay for HVAC. Major appliances are fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and deep freezer.
