Newer investor here so pardon my ignorance, but what justifies the buzz and hype around Emerging Markets (EM)? I notice it especially on Bloomberg.
The 5-year performance for the MSCI EM Index and an ETF like Schwab EM (SCHE) has been relatively flat for the past 5 years and only pays dividends once a year. What's to love about EM?
Diversity is nice, but doesn't EM have a reputation for lack of transparency? I just feel like I'm missing something as to what makes EM ETFs desirable. Just trying to learn.
