I was charged over $100 today for a trip that usually would cost not more than $15.

It was a busy hour and the price was showing as $22 — totally get it, traffic and stuff, Friday afternoon, everybody going places. I was also in a hurry, trying to bring my cat to an animal hospital for an urgent care.

I shown the driver a carrier with my cat before I even got into her car, asking if that’ll be ok with her and making sure she’s got no allergies or other concerns. She said it’s totally fine and we boarded. I was holding the carrier with my cat in my hands or on my laps the entire time of the ride, he absolutely couldn’t move or get out, as he was zipped shut.

I was texting with my friends and crying, because how nervous I was, and I remember every second of that trip.

As we made it, I left $5 tip to the driver as well as a reward “Clean” or something, ‘cause I did actually noticed how spotless her car was, considering the fact that it had entirely beige interior. Little I knew.

More than 6 hours after she sent me $80 charge for cleaning fee.

I contacted techsupport asking what the hell, and have been told that I left a mess in the car. What? Why did she think it was me who caused the mess six hours after I took a ride? I have no idea. They sent me two blurry pictures of a child’s vomit or something white and foamy on a dark-grey floor mat. Pictures have no timing on it, they are not made in the car’s interior, there is no way to even see it was the same cab that I rode.

They’re refusing to refund my money and I’m planning to dispute a hell out of this case, as it makes absolutely no sense.

If you guys could help me to figure out what are my options here, I’ll appreciate it a ton!

I’m planning on reporting the transaction for a fraud, should I also report the driver? It does feel weird that she possibly assumed that was me just base on a fact that I was crying?.. Which I totally was, but come on, crying and vomiting are two quite different things!

And how nice was it to add another $100 to my $400 emergency room charge, I can’t even describe:(

EDIT: Unbelievable. The second after I posted it I received a message from Uber, that was saying that after a further review, they decided to refund all the charges to my account.

I wish I put a word “SCAM” in the title of this post.

Won’t delete just to raise awareness.
