I've had 2 or 3 headseets in the past, and they almost always give up somewhere, be it mechanically or something with electronics, after about 2 years.
I want to buy a headset or headphones (which I will just buy a clip-on microphone with) that will last me for a while. I'd primarily use it on a desktop computer, preferrably without an amplifier or soundcard, but I'm open to suggestions.
I write this post since I've searched around for a few hours and found some good choices, but I don't trust myself completely since I'm not too far into the audio scene.
Also, if possible, I'd like to avoid "Gaming"-Headsets. More often than not, they're too expensive, and I personally don't like the looks of most.
TIA!
