We are installing a new approximately 80 foot fence with pressure treated 4x4 posts and horizontal redwood tongue and groove boards.My question is should we just set the boards straight into the holes with concrete or should we have a concrete footer with a metal anchor like Simpson strong tie to further prevent more rapid rotting of the post?I don’t see much in my searches on this but my neighbor is keen on using the metal anchors set in concrete. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2riHaI0
