Hey folks. So, I am completely re-doing my kitchen. The walls were HORRIFIC, so they were the first port of call.I bonded gyproc tapered edge plasterboard to the walls, all nice and flat/square. Had a local plasterer come in. He taped and bonded all the joints, bonded the wall to ceiling area, and bonded the joints in the CONCRETE ceiling. No issues. He came back the next day and hit the walls and ceiling with Thistle Multi-finish. Job looked really good, I watched him for a few mins every hour. After he was done polishing it, he went over the ceiling with what I would describe as a very thin slurry. So, fast forward a week to let it all dry out, And I did the usual prep, cleared up the sockets, gave the whole lot a quick brush down, and got ready to paint it.NOW, I specifically asked the advice of the plasterer. What paint should I use, and should I water it down. I've painted fresh plaster before and used 70/30....He suggested that Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt was the one to go for these days, and that should be used neat. Excellent.Did all my cutting in and hit the walls and ceilings with a first coat, let it dry overnight. Second coat went on fine and looked REALLY good.Third coat went on, and as the ceiling was getting coated, I spotted a 3cmx3cm patch that looked puffy. Gave it another roll, and the paint peeled off.... DISASTER.I let everything dry up, then scraped it back to what seemed to be solid paint. Sanded the edges, feathered it in, and re painted with 60/40. First coat was fine. second was fine. Third coat....and the edges of the original paint started to blister.3 days later, And I’ve just scraped 90% of the paint off the ceiling, with it coming off in sheets. It's not stuck to the ceiling and comes off with a fair bit of dust on the back side of the paint.Am I correct in assuming this is simply lack of a mist coat, or could it be that the dusty surface of the plaster is causing it?Open to any advice.........Other than from the plasterer..... via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2rk7yBl
