Im looking to get involved in stocks for the first time. Im 28 years old(29 next week) and i have about 5,000 that ive put to the side for this. Im not looking to day trade or flip stocks, mostly looking to just buy and hold for a few years atleast 3-5 minimum. I do plan investing a % of my income(maybe 500$ per month as rough est, maybe more to buy higher priced stocks) periodically after my initial 5k investment. Looking to have around 10k or more invested by the end of the year.
Some stocks ive been considering are... AMD/Nvidia/Facebook/Amazon/Visa/Master Card/Netflix/Intel/Google/Blizzard/Exxon/AT&T
I know some of these are expensive and not sure if its worth buying with such little initial investment, even though i feel confident in these companies. Thoughts?
Ive also been looking into trading platforms, such as robin hood and Etrade. Would anyone have any suggestions based off my investment size and low amount of buying/selling(after initial investment maybe 1-2 purchases a month of around 500$)? Again not looking to flip mostly just buy and hold.
Ive pretty green in this subject and looking to get my feet wet.
