Hi all,
I'm in a pinch. I have my first car (2006 hyundai elantra, owned not financed) and my first car insurance, age 23 F with OK/Good credit. I had been paying 130/mo with geico, for a few months, but then I got a call from them saying my policy is cancelled and they can't offer me insurance after verifying that it was my first time having car insurance. The plan they wanted to offer me was 230/mo, which I definitely could not afford!
After my policy is cancelled (effective next month) what are my options? Would I be able to claim that I've had insurance before (hopefully lowering it in other insurances)? Are there any plans that you guys know of?
If it helps, I live in south florida, in a suburb north of ft lauderdale.
. . .
PS: Do I have some sort of permanent record where other insurance can tell if my previous policy has been cancelled or not?
