I'm trying to find an easy to use budgeting/expense tracking application to use that DOESN'T sell your "anonymized" data. I was excited to try You Need A Budget until I saw this gem in their privacy policy: "We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction."
If you aggregate enough data, you can cross reference that with other data to de-anonymize someone which is why I don't buy the "but it's anonymous!" argument. If that was true, then insurance and financial companies wouldn't be buying massive amounts of data and mining/aggregating it. Not trying to hide anything, just tired of my data being whored out to the highest bidder.
I don't think an application like this exists, but does anyone know of one that may whore data out a little less? (Asking and hoping.) Thanks in advance for reading!
