Dealership in NJ. Posted a vehicle on multiple websites at a list price of $17,987. These listings were up for approximately a week.
Went in, test drive vehicle. Spoke with sales person during the test drive about the price asking if the price was accurate. He confirmed it was.
Once we got back to the dealership, he asked how I planned to pay, I explained that I was already approved by my back for 25k.
I was then handed off to another salesman and they both went to the back to check the numbers. Upon their return, I am shown a price of $25987, minus my $2000 down, plus tax, tag and fees, all of the sudden this vehicle will cost me my full pre-approved limit.
I explained that this was not the price listed online, and I was told that this was just a mistake. After he somewhat told me I was lying, I found that the price online had just been changed while I was there.
Do I have any recourse here? I already put them on blast via social media and plan on filing a complaint with the BBB.
TLDR: Dealership changes price of vehicle right after I test drive it to max of my credit approval.
