I'll try to make a long story short...

  • Purchased on: April 23rd 2018
  • Delivered on: April 26th 2018
  • Picked Up on: April 30th 2018
  • Refunded: Declined

We purchased a little over $2,000 in lumber from Home Depot in Lake Jackson, Texas (store #6517) to build an above ground pool deck.

When the lumber was delivered, it was completely useless (broken, badly warped, etc...).

We called and asked to please pick it back up due to the condition. We also asked to see what was going to happen with the charge. The woman told me that once the return hits "their system" that the charge would be refunded to the same credit card used.

When the Home Depot truck and Home Depot employees arrived, they loaded up the lumber and left. Very little conversation, no paperwork to sign, no recipe was given. We assumed that all the paperwork was taken care of in office and the pick-up guys did not have anything for us.

Two weeks passed and we still did not receive a refund. We called the store and spent over two hours on hold and getting passed around to three or four different people. This accomplished nothing.

We made the trip down there (we live in North Houston which is about a one hour drive) and asked to speak with the store manager. When we did speak with him and he said "I will get to the bottom of this and make sure you get your money refunded."

Needless to say, we cannot even get him on the phone now and he will not return our calls.

Here is the thing - They have the return in their system. This is acknowledged by both the store manager and the Special Services Supervisor.

We disputed the credit card charge, but it has since been reversed because Home Depot was able to produce a sales receipt.

We are now getting the run around because we do not have a return order receipt that was never given to us. Not one person told us that a return receipt would be provided.

We are asking for advice other than getting legal representation. The amount is to small and an attorney will chew that up in fees within a week.

Thank you for reading and advice given.
