We need more 'negawatts' instead of just more megawatts. The concept was invented to provoke creative thinking about savings on energy. I've also tried to use the concept for other areas of frugality (such as time, money, etc.).
For example, I do try to grow my earning power, but I find that cutting my expenses by painless substitution, negotiation, and new methods or technology has helped me just as much or more.
How have you been able to re-engineer your thinking (or behaviour patterns) to save energy, time, and money?
