I have a question about taxes. Say I buy a share of let’s say Ford ($F) on January. I like the stock and want to continue to buy shares. So I decided that I would buy a share in Ford every month for a year. Now its February and I want to sell the share for what ever reason. Would I get taxed as a long term stock since my first purchase was in January, or would it be considered a short term stock since the last share I bought was December? Does the time for it to be a long term stock start when I make the initial purchase or my last purchase ?
