I am 35(f) with 3 teenagers (14,14,16) and my husband and I just separated. I work a part time job averaging 20hrs a week. I am looking to find another part time job to help bring in more income for myself and kids to stay afloat. As of this moment, I have $60 until I get paid Thursday which should be around $400. I unfortunately do not have a 401(k) or any savings or anything in my checking account. We have been living paycheck to paycheck since we've been married almost 5 years ago and had recently formulated a financial plan that was going to help us pay off debts while slowly creating a savings. So him telling me he wants out is a big shock.
I have already made the decision to cancel satellite service, video/movie streaming services such as Hulu and Netflix, will be canceling internet soon as well as our home phone. I will be moving my phone number to cricket since I seen I can get 4 lines with unlimited everything for around $100/mo so my kids will each have a phone finally. I will also need to find another vehicle that more or less runs to point A and B for my kids to use once they start driving. Of course that incurs another expense of insurance for myself and them for vehicles and medical.
My head is spinning. I am asking for guidance and suggestions on how to stretch the low income I have coming in until I can get another part time job and stretch that further. I guess at the end of all this is I need to know Where do I begin?
