Let me start by saying that this is my first project. I've done quite a bit of research and gotten quite a bit done. The demo went well. Everything is exposed. However, yesterday I got stuck trying to frame out soffit around an HVAC. So I took a short break and learned that I need to build a sort of ladder rather than screwing in each 2x4 individually. As I was designing the HVAC soffit I realized that I probably need to frame in some sort of studs between the concrete gaps in the ceiling in order to attach the drywall further down the road.I started out a few days ago feeling extremely confident. Now that I've run into a few roadblocks, I'm starting to lose confidence in my ability to finish this. Below are some photos of the job.
