Hello,I've purchased a house and I'm renovating it. Got all of the walls gutted and down to the studs. As of now I plan on going back and adding R-15 rockwool batts in the walls before I layer on the new sheetrock but on the West walls of the house I'm debating on adding Reflectix as a "base" layer between the studs on the exterior walls before adding the batts. The west side of the house faces the road and has not shade from the setting sun. It gets the full force of the sun at the hottest times of the day(South Texas heat mind you). I picked Reflectix simply because its readily available in my area and when I lived in an Airstream for a few years(in the Texas heat of course) adding Reflectix over the windows was night and day difference. I guess I'm looking for any info or thoughts on the idea or even feedback from anyone who has done the same. Thanks via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2GIAZYw
