The AMAZING aggregate website, HowMuch (https://howmuch.net/articles/salary-to-afford-the-average-home-in-your-state) curated a list of average home prices for every state from Zillow (http://www.zillow.com/) which was then applied into a mortgage calculator to figure out monthly payments.
