Hello, I just purchase a new 2018 Honda Accord EX-L. I'm pretty happy with the purchase, but I do have one sticking point that's coming up the more I think about things. I fucked up and didn't talk to my credit union first about financing and wound up going with what the dealer offered me (even though I'm sure I could get a better deal). I mentioned when I was buying it that I was going to turn around and refinance it ASAP because of their interest vs what I think I can get elsewhere (close to 800 credit score, they gave me 4.5% when I feel pretty confident I can get 2-3% through my bank or my work credit union) the finance manager said that I would have to wait 3 months before I can refinance due to accepting the Honda $1000 cash back that was provided. I have a friend who used to sell cars that says this is bullshit and I can refinance any time. I was wondering if this is true, do I have to wait or can I go start talking to my bank or credit union on Monday? Is there any official site or anything I can find this information on either way? I would appreciate any help and advice provided. I'm mostly happy with what I got, this is my one real sticking point.
