I'm designing and building a desk. The top will meassure 18, 600, 1950 mm, and will be made out of two seperate glued oak boards each 300 mm wide. The frame and legs will be made out of C14 45x45 mm spruce joists.This is my current design. The side frames and top frame will all be separately plugged and glued, making three picture frames. The frames will then be screwed together. The board will then be glued onto the top frame.Would this design be sturdy enough for me, 75 kg, to stand on? How about two of me?My two ideas for making it stronger is either making the top frame out of 45x75 mm joists, or adding angled supports from the short sides of the top frame to the bottom of the side frames.Any input is welcome.
