I'm trying to replace a wall exhaust fan that broke, but the replacement fan is deeper than the previous one and the brickwork obstructs it. The cavity is deep enough, but there is some brick around the edges that is in the way for anything that is deeper than the previous fan (previous went 4cm into the wall, all current fans I can find that are 150mm go about 8cm into the wall).Looks like shallower fans aren't on the market anymore, so I'll have to chip away the brick to get it to fit - no experience with this, is there anything I should look out for? I want to avoid unnecessarily damaging the brick and only removing what I need to. Otherwise alternatives are welcome. Thanks via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2HYfksJ
