Not sure if this the correct sub for this but given the unemployment pay potential figured i'd give it a shot.
Little background I was planning on quitting this job in a few months to pursue my MBA full time, however I was waiting for background checks to clear before quitting and also to save up a little more. I'm being fired due to not being able to perform the job as expected, not for misconduct or anything like that. I'm in Texas and I've read I can still get unemployment even though I was fired. Would it be smarter to get fired and receive unemployment until the fall? Or to resign and be able to say I left on my own terms?
