We have a dog who fancies herself too good for plain old dry food. So we started buying her wet food and mixing the two together, using 3/4 dry, 1/4 wet to make it more appetizing for her. This, however gets expensive.
Lately we have been making stocks with leftover veggie scraps and meat and we started using that to mix in with her dry food instead of using wet food. (No added sodium, and we leave a lot of the veggies she likes in there instead of straining everything). The scraps we use to make her stock were being thrown away prior to this so it feels great to get a good use out of them. I hope it works for others too!
